The City of Tucumcari Recreation Department provides youth sports and facilities within the city.   The department plans, organizes, and supports various sports programs, such as youth tackle/flag  football and youth volleyball during the fall and youth girls and boys basketball in the winter  The department also maintains the municipal swimming pool during the late spring and summer and the Youth Recreation Center which is open year-round and has a full-size basketball /volleyball court, weight room, game room (pool tables, ping pong, table soccer, bumper pool, dart boards, table shuffle board, board games, air hockey, puzzles, cards), and outdoor skate park.
