Monument To " The Mother Road "

This monument to Route 66 was commissioned by the Culture Corridors for Art on the Scenic Byways and the Quay Council for Arts and Humanities.  It is a stylized tail fin motif evoking the 50's and early 60's, the golden age of American Cars.     The base is a tire and road and tread design in high relief.  This work crosses all cultural boundaries, the spirit of the car.    This monument can be viewed night and day at 1500 West Historic Route 66, as it  is lit a night as well.  Perfect for that special photo on your cross country trip, the monument is easy to find as it is right in front of the Convention Center.
