The Tucumcari Historical Research Institute sponsors summer field trips and events at the museum for its members. Membership is currently $10 per person or $20 per family.
Each summer Duane Moore, President of the THRI Board, plans a series of summer trips. As you can see from the events photos, the membership has been to many interesting places. Duane knows all of the farmers and ranchers on the east side of the State of New Mexico and is able to get invitations to places off the beaten track. Trips to the Zebra Ranch, Wind River Ranch, Loma Parda, etc as just a few of the many unique places the membership has visited.
Every April there is an annual membership meeting and dinner. Included in this event is a speaker who is selected for their knowledge of the southwest and its history.
The museum recently celebrated its 40th birthday. THRI sponsored a cookout for the membership with music by the Tucumcari Bluegrass Band. THRI also holds at least one fall cookout for the membership on the museum grounds.
We encourage all folks who are interested in the southwest, in Quay County, New Mexico and in the preservation of our heritage to join and support the Tucumcari Historical Research Institute.
