The City of Tucumcari is currently accepting applications for the following positions.
SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAGM DIRECTOR - for the City of Tucumcari - Quay County Senior Programs, which include Tucumcari, Logan and House. Interested applicants must be proficient in performing a variety of managerial and supervisory duties related to planning, organizing and coordinating the development and delivery of senior services and programs. Position works and coordinates with community agencies, organizations, and businesses. Oversees and performs fiscal development and management of Senior Services Division budget and assures compliance with established fiscal guidelines. Organizes fund raising events. Performs grant writing. Conducts ongoing needs assessment of senior population and determines target population priorities. Establishes program goals and objectives and develops implementation strategies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include a bachelor's degree in public administration, gerontology, or related field; plus three (3) years of related experience two (2) years of which should be in a supervisory position. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis. Applicants should be highly proficient in Word, Excel, and the Internet; possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills. PART-TIME COOK - at the Tucumcari Senior Center. This position will assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving meals and other meal related duties; packaging home delivered meals; and may deliver meals to homebound consumers. This is classified as a part-time position, up to 25 hours per week. Closing date for applications is Friday, November 21, 2014.
Police Corporal for the City of Tucumcari – Police Department. Interested applicants must be able to be certified as a New Mexico Police Officer and have at least three (3) years of law enforcement experience. Leadership experience is also preferred. All applicants must pass a background check, physical exam, and psychological evaluation. Applicants will participate in an oral-board interview. Employment applications will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014, or until the position is filled.
Police Officer for the City of Tucumcari – Police Department. Interested applicants must be 21 years or older at the time of employment. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. All applicants must pass a background check, physical exam, and psychological evaluation. Code Enforcement Officer - This position enforces provisions of the municipal code pertaining to violations of code and/or zoning through inspections and investigations. Investigates reports of violations and/or failure to comply with codes; gathers evidence and makes reports; keeps record of violations and follows up to secure correction of situation. Position requires knowledge of ordinances, zoning regulations and/or codes of the municipality. Applicant must possess strong communication skills and an ability to work with the public in stressful situations. Applicant needs a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Bilingual preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include an Associate’s Degree; plus two (2) years experience in inspection and/or enforcement work. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis. Employment applications will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 1, 2014, or until the position is filled.
BARTENDERS: Under administrative direction of the Convention Center Director candidates will work on an as needed basis, for numerous events. Must have servers license and experience is desired. Interested applicants must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license with no major driving infractions. Applicants must be willing to submit to a post offer pre-employment drug and alcohol test. BASIC, EMT-I and PARAMEDICS: These positions require individuals who are able to respond to emergency care and rescue; maintain control, manage and direct patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency; and perform other emergency medical procedures. Drives and/or manages the ambulance while on duty, operates in a safe manner while responding to the scene and during the transport of patients. Applicants must possess Basic, EMT- I or Paramedic certification. These positions will remain open.
