MINUTES

SPECIAL MEETING

March 2, 2009

The Tucumcari City Commission met in a special meeting on Monday, March 2, 2009, at 5:15 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers. Members present constituting a quorum were Antonio Apodaca, Robert Lumpkin, Jim Witcher, and Jim Lafferty.

City staff members present were Mike Cherry, Interim City Manager; Christine Dougherty, City Clerk; and Clara Rey, Administrative Assistant.

Consideration of Additions or Deletions to Agenda

There were no suggested additions or deletions to the agenda.

Executive Session

Mayor Pro Tem Witcher made a motion to convene in Executive Session pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 10-15-1(H)2 NMSA 1978 for the purpose of limited personnel matters as related to review of applications for City Manager. Commissioner Lumpkin seconded the motion. Roll Call:

The Commission convened in Executive Session at 5:17 p.m.

Mayor Pro Tem Witcher made a motion to reconvene after Executive Session at 6:48 p.m. Commissioner Lafferty seconded the motion. Roll Call:

At this time Mayor Apodaca stated that pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 10-15-1(H)2 NMSA 1978 the Commission met in Executive Session and discussed only the applications for City Manager.

Mayor Pro Tem Witcher made a motion to hire Bobbye Rose as Tucumcari City Manager effective March 30, 2009. Commissioner Lafferty seconded the motion. Roll Call:

Adjournment

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Pro Tem Witcher and seconded by Commissioner Lumpkin. Time noted 6:51 p.m. Roll Call:
